IPIC 2024-2026 Strategic Plan

[untitled]The future promises both opportunities and challenges, and IPIC is committed to serving its members with dedication and excellence through it all. The cornerstone of this vision is IPIC's newly established three-year strategic plan, aptly named "Moving Forward Together." This ambitious plan sets the course for our profession, not just for the coming year, but for the next three years. The plan focuses on three key pillars:

  1. IPIC as the Voice of the IP Profession: Recognizing the critical importance of the IP profession in an era of rapid technological, scientific, and artistic advancement, the plan emphasizes the elevation of the IP profession's visibility and influence. IPIC will advocate for robust IP rights and a thriving IP profession in Canada. It will also collaborate with students and educational institutions to promote the IP profession as a fulfilling and impactful career.

  2. Professional Development and Thought Leadership: In the face of ever-evolving issues and the need for robust IP strategy, IPIC commits to providing thought leadership and high-quality education for its members. This includes delivering valuable, accessible, and exceptional training and professional development initiatives, enhancing members' skills and knowledge, and addressing emerging issues in the IP field.

  3. Promoting a World-Class IP Community: The plan envisions building connections and community to bolster resilience, with a focus on diversity, inclusiveness, and meaningful connections. IPIC will offer diverse networking opportunities, strengthen member networks, and explore partnerships with global IP associations to facilitate networking and knowledge-sharing.

Additionally, IPIC will address the essential topics of diversity, inclusion, mental health, and overall well-being within the IP profession, providing valuable resources and tools for a balanced, equitable, inclusive, and accessible environment. The strategic plan is designed to be adaptable and flexible, open to input from all IPIC members, reflecting a collective commitment to the evolution of the IP profession in Canada.

This strategic plan serves as the foundation for IPIC's work over the next three years. We are excited about the prospects that lie ahead for our profession and the realm of innovation, growth, and advancement in Canada. The next 3 years promises a future of innovation, growth, and advancement for the Canadian IP profession.
