IPIC responded to the request of the Federal Courts Rules Committee for comments on the report of the Subcommittee on Global Review

IPIC generally agreed with the findings and recommendations in the report, in particular:

• costs provisions should be amended
• using Practice Directions to set policies & guidelines and that stakeholders be consulted in developing new Practice Directions in specialized areas such as IP proceedings 
• making Practice Directions more visible & accessible

implementing a principle of proportionality
