Paula Clancy Elected as IPIC President for 2023-2024 Term
IPIC is thrilled to announce Paula Clancy as our newly elected President for the 2023 to 2024 term! Paula brings a wealth of experience and dedication to this role, having previously served as Secretary of IPIC's Board of Directors. Her involvement extends to leadership positions within IPIC membership, including serving as Chair of the Indigenous IP Committee, the International Trademark Issues Committee, and the Sole and Small Practice Network.
Professionally, Paula boasts over 27 years of experience as a corporate/commercial and trademark lawyer, holding certification by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in IP. Paula currently serves as a partner and trademark agent at Gowling WLG's Ottawa office.
“I’m honoured to be elected to this role and look forward to leading the institute during a particularly pivotal time for Canadian IP law and the broader IP ecosystem,” said Paula. “With disruptive new technologies, modern approaches to regulation and emerging business risks testing the traditional IP playbook every day, it’s a responsibility I do not take lightly.”
