IPIC Welcomes Adam Kingsley as New Executive Director

Ottawa – The Council of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Kingsley as its new Executive Director, effective December 19, 2016.

“The Executive Director Recruitment Committee was very impressed with Adam Kingsley’s breadth of experience and expertise. Adam’s particular strengths in regulatory affairs, member services, and in building teams have contributed to his very successful career trajectory,” said Stephen Beney, IPIC’s President.

Adam is an accomplished and dynamic association executive with over fifteen years of progressive experience in leading strategic initiatives and programs for both the not-for-profit and corporate sectors. He joined Consumer Health Products Canada (CHPC) in 2002, where he took on a variety of roles leading teams in regulatory affairs, government relations, member services, professional affairs, and most recently as their Vice President of Operations.  

“As a career advocate for policies that support Canadian innovation, science, and international trade, I am honoured to represent a profession that is at the leading edge of promoting and supporting policies for a competitive IP system,” said Adam Kingsley. “I am really looking forward to working with Council on a new strategic plan that will build on the past success of IPIC, and create the policy conditions in Canada to attract further investment in IP to drive growth in the Canadian economy.”

Adam currently serves on GS1 Canada’s Pharmacy and Healthcare Sector Board, as well as the Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board. During his career, he has served on a variety of federal government advisory bodies and worked with Global Affairs Canada on life science IP issues of various international trade agreements. Throughout his career, Adam has also dealt with various federal and provincial government departments, as well as a diverse set of health industry, patient, and professional stakeholder groups across the country.

Adam is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and studied at the University of Western Ontario where he earned a BSc. in Biology (Honours).
