IPIC Sole and Small Practice Community Succession Planning Survey - Survey Closes Nov 30 at Noon ET
Published on November 14, 2022
** Please note for those who have already completed the survey, based on feedback, we have included two additional questions (29 and 30) at the end of the survey. Please feel free to respond to questions 29 and 30 only, if you haven’t already and wish to do so.
The IPIC Sole and Small Practice Community would like to extend an invitation to all IPIC members and members of the IP profession who participated in the sale or purchase of an IP practice and those who have had unsuccessful negotiations in the sale or purchase of an IP practice to complete the IPIC Succession Planning Survey.
What is my practice worth? How should I structure the sale of my practice? As the baby boomers among us start to retire, these questions will become more common and pressing. The anecdotal information available can be inconsistent and confusing. This survey is intended to collect data to find some objective answers.
Any party who participated in the sale or purchase of an IP practice is invited to participate and provide as much information as is known to them. The survey is entirely anonymous. The results will be compiled and shared with the membership.
We encourage you to share the survey with colleagues who you know may have participated in the sale or purchase of an IP practice to complete the survey as well.
We hope that the results will help inform both small firms and sole practitioners seeking to sell their practices as well as larger firms that may be interested in purchasing an IP practice.
We thank everyone for participating in the survey. This survey will close on November 30, 2022, at noon ET.
