Patent Agent

ABOUT ALTITUDE IP
Altitude IP is a growing intellectual property (IP) boutique firm based in Alberta which focuses on preparing, filing and prosecuting patent, industrial design and trademark applications. We work with local inventors and small, mid-sized and large enterprises to protect their IP in Canada and abroad, and with foreign IP attorneys to help them to protect their clients’ IP rights in Canada. We have been recognized by IAM 1000 as one of the top IP firms for patent prosecution in Canada.

Altitude IP has a supportive work culture designed to provide excellent service to our clients while recognizing and valuing our employees’ individual strengths and working styles. We are flexible in defining the right path for career growth for you depending on your own goals, recognizing that one size does not fit all in terms of professional development. We also look to all our employees to contribute to the direction of the firm.

We are a virtual firm, with patent agents, trademark agents and assistants working remotely. We get together occasionally, so we would prefer candidates in Calgary or the surrounding area.

Altitude IP is an equal opportunities employer, and we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team of talented people. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

ROLE
We are looking for a registered Canadian patent agent to grow our team at Altitude IP.

The role will include:

  • Drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications in Canada, the U.S., and around the world.
  • Coordinating global patent prosecution through a network of foreign associates, and handling inbound work from international agents.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and foreign associates, and contributing to business development.
  • Working collaboratively with assistants and other agents at Altitude IP.

  • Class 1 Patent Agent in good standing with the College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents (CPATA)
