The examination and certification are administered by the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
Purpose of the examination
The examination serves to qualify trademark administrators seeking the professional designation of Certified Canadian Trademark Administrator.
The exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of the foundations, regulations, procedures and best practices pertaining to the administration of trademarks.
Eligibility to sit for the examination
Candidates who have completed the IPIC Trademark Administrator Program and paid the exam registration fee are eligible to sit for the exam.
Candidates must have obtained an attestation of course completion for all 4 courses in the Program and must be able to supply a copy of such attestations upon request.
Examination conditions
The exam will be administered online, in multiple choice question format, within a 2.5-hour period. It is open book and candidates may consult the Trademark Administrator Program materials provided by IPIC.
Candidates who successfully obtain a score of at least 80% are eligible for the designation of Certified Canadian Trademark Administrator (CCTA).
Maintenance of certification
A Certified Canadian Trademark Administrator must hold a valid IPIC membership to maintain the designation and use the post-nominal letters CCTA.

Last day to register is Tuesday November 12, 2024.
