Tutorial Exercises and Virtual Sessions

Candidates will receive tutorial exercises on September 1, 2021 and be required to submit answers to the exercises for review by tutors by September 29, 2021. The exercises will be subsequently discussed during the sessions:

Exam Information

The College of Patent Agents & Trademark Agents (CPATA) has set the following dates for the 2021 qualification exams. 

The forms and process for exam registration is accessible on the CPATA website under Agents & Trainees.

Details regarding payment of exam fees is provided on the CPATA website under Agents & Trainees. 

Patent Agent Qualifying Examination Dates

Registration Opens: July 26, 2021
Registration Deadline: October 29, 2021
Accommodation Request Deadline: November 12, 2021 (To be confirmed)
Paper A – December 7, 2021
Paper B – December 8, 2021
Paper C – December 9, 2021
Paper D – December 10, 2021

 New Trainees

Individuals who are writing the Qualifying Examinations or beginning their training must register with the CPATA as either a Patent or Trademark Agent in Training (a Class 3 Licensee). No fees will be charged in 2021 for this class. The forms and process for these applications may be found on the CPATA website under Agents & Trainees.

Fees

IPIC Member:
1 - 2 sessions:   $395 plus applicable tax
3 - 4 sessions:   $595 plus applicable tax

Non Member:
1 - 2 sessions:   $595 plus applicable tax
3 - 4 sessions:   $795 plus applicable tax

Continuing Professional Development

Law Society of Ontario
This program is eligible for up to 9 Substantive Hours.

Law Society of British Columbia
The Tutorials are approved for up to 13 hours towards the professional development requirement for certification.

Law Society of Saskatchewan
An application for accreditation will be submitted to the Law Society of Saskatchewan upon request. Please e-mail your request to admin@ipic.ca
