Summary
We have an immediate need for a Patent Agent professional with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering and Related Fields. This is an opportunity to join a good team with excellent compensation and benefits available. Preferably the candidate has passed the Canadian patent agent exams.
Responsibilities
· Work with inventors/clients to prepare, draft and prosecute patent applications
· Prepare, file and prosecute industrial design applications
· Perform, research, analyze, and provide guidance on a variety of patent and IP-related issues
· Report and respond to office actions in patent and design applications
· Conduct consultations with clients on the prosecution of their patent and design applications
· Oversee and supervise the work of the Patent Assistants
· Be involved in the Patents workflow as well as facilitate trainings for the Patent Department
Qualifications and Education
· A degree in mechanical engineering or related fields
· Preferably a Registered Patent Agent before the CIPO
· Preferably three years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications

· Strong to advanced knowledge of Adobe and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
